What's New?

The VW Atlas Cross Sport has been refreshed with a new look since 2018. The 2023 model year has had very few changes, the most notable being a 26cm Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro to all trims above the base, Trendline. This configurable instrument cluster displays many different types of information to the driver while ensuring they remain focused on the road.

Engine Specifications & Fuel Economy

The 2023 VW Atlas Cross Sport, Ottawa, has been fitted with two engines which change depending on the trim level chosen. One is a 2.0L four-cylinder turbocharged engine outputting 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The other is a 3.6L six-cylinder outputting 276 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. The fuel economy for both engines is an estimated 10.9L/100km combined with the four-cylinder and the six-cylinder 11.7L/100km combined.

Infotainment System & Technology

The 2023 VW Atlas Cross Sport has a touch screen that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto pre-installed. It comes in 16.51cm and 20.32cm. The size varies depending on the trim.

The 2023 model comes with some clever technology, one of which is the area view 360 camera system, providing a 360-degree view of the car while parking to ensure easy and precise parking.

A convenient feature of the 2023 model is the automatic start-stop that shuts off the car when stopped at a traffic light to save on fuel and starts again when you release the brake pedal. If you don’t like this feature, you can turn it off. However, it’ll turn itself on again when the car is shut off and then on again.

A stand-out feature starting with the Comfortline trim and above, is the Car-Net app which allows you to control many cars' features through the mobile app. These include starting the car remotely, finding the last parked location of the car, providing health reports, and setting up various alerts.

Features

The Atlas Cross Sport offers several features that help it stand out from Crossover SUVs' within its class. The base trim has several features, including heated front seats, rear cameras, and rain-sensing wipers, to name a few.

One of the best aspects of the VW Atlas Cross Sport is its safety. The base, Trendline trim includes a blind-spot monitor with rear traffic assist and automatic coming and leaving home headlights. It also comes with light assist, which, when turned on, allows the car to automatically control the angle of the high beams to ensure they don’t dazzle oncoming traffic.

Another set of features included in the base trim is the side curtains, airbags for the front and rear seats, and pedestrian detection. This model also comes with a child lock on the rear doors. For added safety, you can keep it always turned on. To do this, you must take the physical key out of your key fob and insert it in a slot marked with the child lock symbol in each rear door. Ensuring peace of mind for you while you drive.

From higher trims, more features are available such as dual climate control zones, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, front and rear parking sensors, a wireless charging pad, a Fender premium audio system with 12 speakers and a subwoofer, power outlets, USB type C ports, and voice control. Plus, a feature that adds to making the car better for a family would be the light assist.

A noteworthy mention would be the Digital Cockpit Pro, a 26cm customizable dashboard cluster with several options to allow the driver to change the information shown while driving freely. These options include elevation, compass, fuel range, and time left to arrive at your destination. You can also display your navigation within the digital cockpit to ensure you focus on the road.
