2023 Volkswagen Taos

2023 Volkswagen Taos

The Taos is one of Volkswagen’s take on SUVs, and it’s among the most affordable ones on the market. The 2023 Volkswagen Taos has upgraded some of its features related to technology and safety options from last year’s lineup

Performance and Driveability

Volkswagen’s Taos lineup makes the style and luxury of SUV vehicles affordable. Despite the low price tag compared with similar vehicles, this lineup comes with a 1.5 TSI turbocharged engine that delivers 184 lb.-ft. of torque and 158 horsepower.

There are two transmission options to choose from: an 8-speed automatic full-wheel-drive with Tiptronic with a fuel consumption of 8.4L/100km in the city and 6.6L/100km on highways, or a DSG 7-speed all-wheel-drive automatic with a fuel consumption of 9.5L/100km in the city and 7.4L/100km on the highway.

Interior and Exterior

Taos is the right SUV for those looking for comfort and design combined with ample internal space. All front seats are heated and adjustable. Upholstery is available in cloth, leatherette, or leather, depending on the trim, and the rear seats can be folded to increase cargo capacity.

The Taos also looks pretty big from the outside, with a wheelbase of 2,689 mm, a length of 4,466mm, a width of 2,097 mm, and a height of 1,636 mm. LED headlights, taillights, heated exterior mirrors, and black window surroundings are available, and there’s a panoramic power sunroof available for the top trims.

Tech and Safety

All trims are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and come with the exclusive Volkswagen Digital Cockpit and a touchscreen display ranging from 6.5” to 10.25”. Bluetooth, USB ports, and a power outlet are all included, as well. Higher trims have wireless connectivity (Volkswagen Car-Net) and SiriusXM satellite radio. The basic trim has two speakers, the mid-level has six speakers, and the top trim level comes with a BeatsAudio® premium audio system with six speakers.

Volkswagen went the extra mile while packing the 2023 Taos with the most updated safety features available. These include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blindspot and pedestrian monitoring, hill hold and descend assist, tire pressure monitoring, and more. The top trim even offers a dynamic road sign display and park distance control.
